Carbery
Rangers junior D team played Muintir Bhaire in the championship on
Friday evening last and had to settle for second best in a close
encounter with only a couple of points separating them at the final
whistle. Ross were slow to settle and conceded 3 points Before Geoff
Wycherley found the net after a fine passing movement that started
in the last line of defense. Ross goalie Conor Ryan made a brilliant
save before Geoff was on hand to kick Rangers into the lead for the
first time. The lead was short lived as Muintir Bhaire scored a goal
and a point before the break and had a 3 point lead at the interval.
David Creedon narrowed the gap soloing thru for a fine point. Philip
Moor had two pointed frees while Muintir Bhaire had two points from
play. Nicolas Peters and Geoff scored one each to tie up the game
entering the final minutes. And with play switching from end to end
it was Muintir Bhaire who raised the flag for the last 2 points to
give them a 1-8 to 1-6 victory. Team Conor Ryan, Donal
