Carbery Rangers Senior team won the Tadgh Crowley cup
with a good victory over Nemo Rangers in Clonakilty on Sunday last.
Ross played against the wind in the first half and were level at the
break, despite conceding a goal earl on. Much was expected from the
Ross men in the second period and they duly obliged, giving a great
display and finishing off some lovely passing movements, scoring
some cracking points to build up a six point lead before Nemo scored
their second goal in injury time from a free kick and it made for
some nervy moments but the Ross boys held out to win 0-16 to 2-07.
The Junior team were in league action on Monday night in
Dunmanway against the home side and won by 1-08 to 1-06. This was a
result that looked most unlikely as the Dohenys led by 4 points to
no score after twenty minutes. Sean O’Neill opened the scoring for
Ross with a point and two more from Niall Hayes and Colin Murphy had
Ross back in the game, but a goal for the home side on the stroke of
half time gave them the advantage. Ross were level early in the
second half when Niall found the back of the net from a penalty
after Sean O’Neill was pulled down. Rangers hit the front with ten
minutes to go as Kieran Fitzpatrick scored a fine point before
Padraig Hodnett got the final score. Team: Robbie Ahern, Daniel
Harte, Stephen Hicks, Michael Cussen, Anthony Roche, Enda Favier,

Lane and John O’Rourke gave
Ross the win on a final score of 1-09 to 6points. Team: Paul
