travelled to Dunmanway on Saturday last to participate in the Sam
Maguire Festival event. Three U-8 games were played simultaneously

by a goal but were beaten by Dunmanway and in a very closely

15-08-09 Carbery Rangers U-10 footballers
continued on their winning ways on Sunday last winning the
Timoleague Harvest Festival blitz. Ross played Bandon in their
opening game and came out easy winners. Sam-Maguires had also come
out winners in their opening game against Timoleague. It was Carbery
Rangers and Sam-Maguires in the final. Ross played with a strong
wind in the first half with a nice lead of 3-5 to 0-1. Dunmanway
with the wind in the second half played well but were unlucky to see
their shots go narrowly wide on 3 or 4 occasions. Ross broke up the
field to score a few nice points as well as a goal and came out
winners on this occasion. It was a great team performance and this
team are improving in every game. The club would like to thank

very successful outing to Union Hall on Saturday last for the annual
blitz. Ross were drawn against Castlehaven in the opening game and
were lucky to emerge winners on a score line of 2-6 to 3-0. This put
them through to the final against last year’s winners, Ilen Rovers.
This was a most exciting game which ended all square at the final
whistle. Extra time was played and Ross were the first to score
followed by two fine points from Ilens and it looked as if the cup
would again be going West, until a last effort by the Rangers ended
with a great goal by team captain John Hodnett. This was a great
result for the panel who have put in a lot of training with their
mentors over the past months. The Joe O’ Regan cup was presented to
